The coffee from El Diablo grows in a lush nature reserve called Cerro Datanli. Only around 10 small to medium scale producers grow coffee in this beautiful area, which features a steep mountainside in a gorgeous and thriving cloud forest.
The name El Diablo comes from the name of the mountain range that forms part of the reserve. Datanli, the name of the nature reserve, is an indigenous word that means ‘where water falls.'
This is a continued program in collaboration with Caravela Coffee to support Tobacco Road FC, a semi-professional soccer team here in Durham that offers higher levels of pay for community members alongside college students. Caravela partners with Little Waves to send 50% of the profits from this coffee to Tobacco Road.
