Welcome to our East African box set, featuring five different coffees from countries producing some of the most vibrant and distinctive coffees around. It made perfect sense to put together a box set honoring this vibrancy, character, and all around fun - characteristics shared by the summer season.

We’re including coffees from Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, and Kenya. And though these countries encompass the same region, their characteristics are diverse, complex, and a great exploration of how many amazing coffees are coming out of this region every year. We’re featuring 4oz bags of:

Dinkinesh: Dale is from the Sidamo Region of Ethiopia. 99% of the genetic material contained in arabica coffees can be traced to Ethiopian landraces. Landraces are different from varieties because they’ve been cultivated in their natural environments and not cross-bred with another variety. These landraces produce some of the most vibrant and beautiful flavors we taste in coffee today. In this cup you can find honeysuckle, sweet red tea, and blood orange aftertaste. Use a 1:17 ratio 198˚F

Fugi Ikizere Women from Rwanda is a washed coffee. Sorted and depulped by the community of women to encourage long-lasting relationships, this coffee is clean and smooth with tasting notes of peach, clover honey, pineapple cookie, and clove. A true example of supporting women and the beautiful results that yields. Use a 1:16 ratio 196˚F

Futurism Tanzania, shows the embrace of an ultra-clean washed process, thanks to ongoing investment in agronomic training and infrastructure improvements. The washed process here amplifies complexity and clarity, with elevated acidity supported by increased protein and amino acid development during fermentation. We're tasting red apple, nougat, dulce de leche, and strawberry with a fig finish. Use a 1:17 196˚F

Akeza from Burundi is a naturally processed coffee. Because this processing method involves leaving the fruit to dry on the bean, the Akeza boasts ultra-sweet fruity flavors. We taste unmistakeable notes of blueberry, blackberry, grape, violet, raspberry in a dynamic and syrupy-sweet cup. Use a 1:16.2 196˚F

Where The Rain Sleeps from Kenya is a washed coffee, with bright fruitiness from the 16-18 hour fermentation process in cement tanks, producing a grapefruit, blackberry, jasmine, and effervescent cup. A nod to the cloud-covered Aberdare Mountain Range and the quiet majesty of the highlands, it is truly delicate, sweet, floral, poetic, and delicious! Use a 1:16.2 198˚F
