How do Little Waves green buyers and roasters taste coffees to purchase or roast QC? They cup! We'll introduce you to the method known to roasters as "cupping". You'll learn the hows and whys, then we'll each set up our own and walk through a professionally-graded cupping together!
To join the class, simply sign up! Participation in the cupping activity isn't a requirement to enjoy class, but if you'd like to cup from home, we recommend the following: source three different coffees (though Little Waves' coffees are pretty nice, we hear). You'll also need three equally-sized 4-6 fl oz bowls for cupping, a rinsing bowl, a spoon you can slurp from, two spoons for skimming grounds, a grinder, water, and ideally, a scale. We have also posted the SCA Cupping Form as a download within - feel free to print this out or to simply take notes on scratch paper as we cup!
